Hi Becky,

Sorry to hear you have had conflicting advice.

Its times like this when it really shows how much mis-information is really 'out there' with managing PE.

The PRECOG guidelines are very clear, 'It is recommended to have early specialist input in a high risk pregnancy, ideally prior to conception'.

This is because there are tests availabe to plan to have you & your body in the best position for a successful pregnancy & to minimise the chances of PE re-occuring. These tests could indicate how your pregnancy is managed prior to conception. E.g. Do you need aspirin or heparin? Do you need them prior to conception? What will your care package be? What is your liver/kidney function like now? - (this has to be recorded as a baseline) what will be the peramiters for emergency intervention.
All this has to do with your physical health - and because of your history, your mental/emotional health too.

You are doing the right thing by arming yourself with as much information as possible as this is your biggest safety net.
Hang in there Becky!

Best Wishes
Liz
